The author approaches equine ecology from a biocentric viewpoint - one that recognizes that horses are biological entities having intrinsic value, and applies those values within the domestic horse's environment. This volume discusses equine nutrition from a species appropriate perspective, and examines why a human-centric industry is the underlying cause of many domestic equine pathologies. This is anticipated as the first in a series of works in which the author applies the principles of Goethean science to arrive at a complete biologically appropriate ecology model for the domesticated horse.
Equine Nutrition From a Species Appropriate Perspective Sarah Reagan
An important book for the understanding and well-being of the equine from an ecological and ethological perspective. Equines in captive situations are subjected to unnatural environments and schedules governed by their human owners, this is detrimental to their emotional, psychological and physiological welfare. The domesticated equine world is one where horses are viewed as usable objects, it is my view and from this great read, that of the author that we are to go deeper in understanding our equine companions. They offer so very much in return and as their guardians we are gifted with their presence, the least we can do is offer them the respect, understanding and a species appropriate environment (not to mention this knowledge influences the more practical aspects - e.g.,reduction of vet bills and increased longevity).Product details
